It is an easy to moderate out-and-back trail that offers some of the best sunset views in the region. Distance: Up to 9 km (total out-and-back), though many hikers choose a shorter 4.5 km return trip to the main landmarks. Difficulty: Generally Easy to Moderate, suitable for most fitness levels and families. Shipwreck of the HMS Osprey: About 1.5 km into the walk, you can see the boiler room of the Osprey, which was wrecked here in 1867.View details →

Terrain: The reserve protects 38 hectares of coastal vegetation where dense thicket is replacing fynbos. Paths wind through this green belt between the village homes and the sea. Birding: With over 200 recorded bird species, it is a prime spot for birders. Look for the rare African Black Oystercatcher.
