About Betty's Bay parkrun
Betty's Bay parkrun is a world-class, breathtaking weekly 5km community event that offers what many consider to be one of the most uniquely scenic running routes on the planet. Held every Saturday morning at 08:00 AM inside the majestic Harold Porter National Botanical Garden, this completely free, timed event welcomingly caters to all fitness levels, whether you are a competitive trail runner or a casual walking enthusiast. The beautifully marshaled course starts in front of the local garden restaurant, charting an adventurous path over river bridges, through manicured flower fields, and deep into a double-loop trail underneath the indigenous mountain forest canopy. While the natural paths can be uneven and accumulate mud after rainy weather, the overwhelming community spirit and stunning mountain crag backdrops make every step a joy. Complete with accessible parking, public restrooms, and a lively post-run coffee tradition at the on-site bistro, this strictly smoke-free and dog-free community event is a fantastic active highlight for weekend travelers exploring the Overberg coast.
