About Netcare UCT Private Academic Hospital
Netcare UCT Private Academic Hospital is a 112-bed facility in Cape Town that delivers specialized healthcare through a collaboration between Netcare, the University of Cape Town Medical School, and Groote Schuur Hospital. The hospital does not operate a general Emergency Unit, instead utilizing an in-house general practitioner alongside dedicated medical and surgical wards for scheduled and specialized admissions. Patient care focuses heavily on highly complex treatments. These include organ transplantations (heart, liver, and kidney), specialized orthopaedic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, and haematology. Diagnostic and intervention needs are supported by an on-site catheterization laboratory and a kidney and renal dialysis center. Critical care infrastructure includes dedicated high care and intensive care units, complemented by a specialized paediatric unit for younger patients.
