About The Old Granary
The Old Granary (recently proposed to be renamed The Desmond and Leah Tutu House) is a significant heritage landmark on Buitenkant Street in Cape Town. Originally constructed between 1808 and 1813, it has served various roles—from a bakery and customs house to a women's prison and magistrate's court—before its recent transformation into the home of the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.
