Visiting The Coffee Guy Roastery has become a highlight of our trips down Kommetjie Road. Tucked away into the vibrant, rustic courtyard of Imhoff Farm, this "hole in the wall" gem brings a refreshing approach to artisanal coffee in the Deep South. What really sets them apart is their dedication to roasting in smaller batches, avoiding that heavily bitter, over-roasted flavor you get from typical dark roasts. Instead, you get an incredibly smooth, balanced, and approachable cup of coffee that retains its rich flavor notes. The baristas are wonderful, exceptionally welcoming, and always ready to chat about their different bean origins. It has a fantastic community feel where you see everyone from local cyclists to traveling families grabbing a brew. We ended up buying a bag of their freshly roasted house blend to take home, and the team ground it perfectly on the spot for our French press. If you value great craftsmanship, excellent customer service, and a relaxed village vibe, do yourself a favor and make this your regular coffee stop!
