About Cape Times Fresh Air Camp
Nestled in the quiet coastal pocket of Froggy Pond, the Cape Times Fresh Air Camp stands as one of the most enduring charity bases in the Western Cape. For generations, the camp has hosted groups of children many of whom have never seen the ocean before to swim in Franks Bay, learn essential outdoor life skills, and experience nature. During World War II, the camp briefly transitioned into a military station named SAS Afrikander to house naval gunners, before returning to its foundational community roots after the war. Today, the property is a primary venue for regional schools, karate clubs, youth leadership programs, and corporate team-building retreats seeking fresh ocean air and rustic, secure group accommodation.
