SBC Design Studio in the coastal suburb of Fish Hoek, Cape Town, is a highly unique and celebrated creative pottery and fine arts workspace. Founded and run by professional South African ceramicist and hand-builder Sandile Brian Cele, the boutique studio serves as the birthplace for his internationally recognized "Zulu Goth" design line. The workspace blends traditional Zulu heritage and ancient beer vessels (Ukhamba) with striking elements of sharp Gothic architecture and motifs inspired by tribal scarification. Far from a mass-production factory, it operates as an intimate studio providing hand-built tableware, one-off sculptural vases, and community-focused pottery workshops led by the artist himself.
