About Nel

Nel Art is the project of its founder Luan Nel and his partner Neil Pendock. Luan Nel is an acclaimed artist in his own right and Neil Pendock is a Mathematician who also happened to be one of the foremost private collectors in South Africa. The Gallery grew from their mutual love and long (thirty-four-year) history of collecting South African art. They started Nel Gallery to show work that might not always catch the radar of the commercial art circuit. The aim is to bring rising as well as established artists to the public, showing work that broadens horizons and elicits conversations.
