About Morkel House
Morkel House is one of the oldest surviving structures in Stellenbosch, originally built in the 1690s as a wine cellar. Located at 4–6 Ryneveld Street, this Provincial Heritage Site has served various roles over three centuries, including a temporary place of worship, an official residence for the town bailiff, and a family home for several generations of the Morkel family.
