About Lighthouse Shelly Point
The Shelley Point Lighthouse, also known as the Stompneus Point Lighthouse, is a picturesque landmark situated on the northern tip of the Shelley Point peninsula in St. Helena Bay. Access: You must pass through a security boom gate to enter the estate. Inform the guards you are visiting the lighthouse; they will typically grant access and provide directions to the parking area. Walking Trail: From the Lighthouse Parking Area at the end of 14th Street, it is a scenic 8–10 minute walk (approx. 400m) along a shell-strewn beach to reach the structure. Current Structure: The present white masonry tower was completed in 2001 and stands approximately 8–9 metres high.
