About Sir Lowry's Pass View Point
The Sir Lowry's Pass View Point is a scenic lookout located at the summit of the Sir Lowry's Pass on the N2 highway. It is situated roughly 460 meters above sea level between Somerset West and Grabouw. Spectacular Panoramas: On clear days, you can see across False Bay to the Cape Peninsula, Table Mountain, and Somerset West. Historical Significance: The pass follows a route originally used by ox-wagons as far back as 1662; you can still find old wagon tracks in the rocks nearby. Best Time to Visit: Visiting during daylight hours is recommended for both safety and visibility. Sunsets are particularly popular for photography.
