About Mosaic Tunnel
Mosaic Tunnel, located at Pinnacle Point Estate in Mossel Bay is a community art project spanning 55 metres in length that functions as a pedestrian walkway. Serving as a gateway to Eden Bay Beach and the historic Pinnacle Point caves, this subterranean passage features a 92-panel mosaic installation crafted by local artists and volunteers. The left wall illustrates a chronological journey through South African history, highlighting everything from prehistoric times to Nelson Mandela. Conversely, the right wall showcases the region's rich marine heritage, depicting vibrant mosaics of coastal scenery, whales, sharks, and dolphins.
