About Historical Water Trough
The Historical Water Trough in L'Agulhas is a heritage site located at 9 Marine Drive. Historically known as the Hangnes outspan, it served as a vital watering station for livestock and travellers before the area was developed. Shepherd’s Resource: The trough was primarily used by shepherds to water their sheep. Specifically, Merino sheep from the van Breda family farm, "Zoetendals Vallei," grazed in this area during certain times of the year.
