Boomslang Cave Entrance

Fish Hoek, Western CapeThe Boomslang Cave Entrance is located above Kalk Bay in the Table Mountain National Park. The cave features two main openings: a large vertical crack on the Fish Hoek side often considered the "entrance," and a southern opening facing Echo Valley typically used as the "exit". Starting Point: The hike begins at the Echo Valley sign on Boyes Drive. Trail Details: From Boyes Drive, follow the trail through Echo Valley for approximately 45–60 minutes to reach the cave. The Entrance: The primary entrance is a large, obvious wide crack in the rocks. Entering here allows you to walk into the cave before needing to crawl. Seasonal Advice: It is best visited in summer. During winter, the cave can have pools of water up to 30cm deep, and visitors are discouraged from entering to avoid disturbing hibernating Schreiber's Long-fingered Bats.View details →

Skellie Pool

Fish Hoek, Western CapeSkellie Pool is a delightful, naturally enclosed rock pool tucked away along the scenic Jager's Walk on the southern end of Fish Hoek Beach in Cape Town. Loved by locals as a peaceful hidden gem, this tiny tidal spot is ideal for a quick, refreshing plunge or for children to explore safely when the waves get too rough in the main ocean. While it is not deep enough for a proper lap swim and can get a bit shallow during low tide, the crystal-clear water, handy entry stairs, and stunning coastal views across False Bay make it an absolute must-visit during a leisurely coastal stroll.View details →
