About Klipgat Caves
The Klipgat Caves are a significant archaeological and natural heritage site located within the Walker Bay Nature Reserve near the coastal village of De Kelders, South Africa. Known for offering some of the most spectacular ocean views along the Whale Coast, the caves are one of only a few sites in South Africa providing evidence of human habitation spanning both the Middle and Late Stone Ages, dating back approximately 70,000 to 80,000 years. Gate Hours: 07:00 AM – 07:00 PM daily.
