Liphofung Cave (meaning "place of the eland") is a significant cultural and historical heritage site located in the 'Moteng Valley of the Butha-Buthe District, Lesotho. It is a large sandstone overhang that has served as a vital shelter for various groups throughout history, from Stone Age hunter-gatherers to the founder of the Basotho. San Rock Art: The cave walls are adorned with well-preserved rock paintings created by the San people, depicting daily life, hunting scenes, and spiritual practices. Archaeological Site: Deposits beneath the cave floor have yielded Stone Age implements and artifacts, providing insights into prehistoric human habitation.
