Olifants Lookout
About Olifants Lookout
The Olifants Lookout is an elevated viewing point located along the S44 Lookout Road, a gravel loop positioned just north-east of the Olifants Rest Camp in the central region of Kruger National Park. Situated on high rocky cliffs overlooking the Olifants River, this site is designated as an official get-out point where visitors are permitted to exit their vehicles at their own risk to observe the landscape.
The vantage point provides panoramic views of the riverbed below, making it a prominent location for spotting wildlife such as elephants, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, and various bird species that frequent the water source. The lookout does not have gated security or commercial facilities, but it sits within driving distance of the main rest camp, which provides lodging, fuel, and dining options.
