N' wanetsi Picnic Spot
About N' wanetsi Picnic Spot
N'wanetsi Picnic Spot is an elevated rest site located approximately 25 kilometers east of Satara Rest Camp at the eastern terminus of the H6 tar road within the central region of Kruger National Park. Situated in the rugged Lebombo Mountain range near the Mozambique border, this fenced rest area features a short, stone-paved pedestrian path leading to a thatched lookout deck that overlooks the N'wanetsi River gorge and the Wenela Dam.
The site is equipped with clean flush toilets, a small tuck shop selling cold beverages, a continuous hot-water hydroboil system, and a gas skottel braai rental service managed by on-site park attendants. Because the location lacks a full grocery store or restaurant, day visitors must supply their own food and drinking water, while remaining vigilant of local wildlife such as vervet monkeys that frequent the shaded canopy tables.
