About KwaXolo Caves
The KwaXolo Caves are a range of historical open-rock shelters located just inland from Margate on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. Recently opened to the public in 2020, the caves are famous for preserving San rock art estimated to be over 100,000 years old, offering a rare glimpse into the spiritual and daily lives of ancient indigenous communities. The site is managed by KwaXolo Caves Adventures, which offers a unique "Via Ferrata" experience to access the caves. Requirements: The activity is open to anyone aged 8 and older. General fitness is recommended due to the climbing elements.
