Howick Falls is a breathtaking 95-metre (312 ft) waterfall located in the heart of Howick, KwaZulu-Natal. Known to the Zulu people as KwaNogqaza ("Place of the Tall One"), it is a central feature of the Midlands Meander and one of South Africa’s most iconic natural landmarks. Local folklore tells of a giant, serpent-like creature with a horse's head called the Inkanyamba that lives in the deep pool at the base. It is believed to cause the region’s powerful summer storms when angered.
