Townsend Park is the largest and most popular public park in Ballito, it serves as a central "green lung" for the community, offering a mix of open green spaces, indigenous forests, and sports facilities. Recreation & Play: It features a children's play park with equipment like monkey bars. It is also a popular spot for picnics, bike riding, and tree climbing. Sports Facilities: Home to the Footy Ballito courts, the park includes action netball, cricket, and soccer (footy) courts. There is also a basic tennis court on-site. Nature & Wildlife: The park is known for its "Butterfly Forest," a reforested area filled with indigenous trees like Natal Mahogany and Red Beech that provide a natural corridor for local birds and bushbuck.
