The Amanzimtoti Bird Sanctuary (also known as Umdoni Bird Sanctuary) is a 4-hectare nature reserve in KwaZulu-Natal featuring a large dam, lush indigenous forests, and rolling lawns. It is a popular spot for birdwatching and family picnics, offering a peaceful escape just 20km south of Durban. Note for Visitors: Recent reviews suggest that parts of the sanctuary can sometimes be overgrown or affected by water pollution, so it is best to check recent conditions if you plan to walk the deeper trails.
