Florida Lake, located in Roodepoort, Johannesburg, is a prominent freshwater lake and bird sanctuary managed by Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo. The site features controlled access gates, security personnel, a 2.4-kilometre walking loop, an outdoor gym, and rubberised children's playgrounds. It also serves as a recreational hub hosting the Florida Lake Canoe Club, the Sea Scouts, wheelchair-accessible braai facilities, and an Olympic-sized public swimming pool. Family Picnics and Braais: Equipped with newly built, wheelchair-accessible braai facilities, group function lapas, and large shady lawns, the park has a highly festive atmosphere on weekends and public holidays. Kids' Adventure Zones: Children have access to a dedicated adventure park and upgraded jungle gyms built on modern, rubberised safety surfaces.
