About Rolfes Pan
Rolfes Pan, also known as Carlos Rolfe's Bird Sanctuary, is a semi-permanent freshwater wetland located in the Boksburg/Jet Park area of Gauteng, South Africa. It serves as an active citizen science site for the Coordinated Waterbird Counts (CWAC), supporting diverse avifauna including Grey-headed Gulls, Sacred Ibis, and African Spoonbills. However, the ecosystem faces ongoing environmental pressure from industrial encroachment, solid waste, and effluent pollution along its perimeter.
