Civic Lake is a permanent body of water situated in Benoni, a town within the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality east of Johannesburg, South Africa. The lake is geographically positioned adjacent to the Benoni Lakeside Mall and the local civic center precinct. Historically used for local recreation, the water body has faced ongoing environmental challenges, particularly severe infestations of invasive water hyacinth that cover significant portions of its surface.
