The Naval Hill Planetarium in Bloemfontein is the first digital planetarium in sub-Saharan Africa. Located within the Franklin Game Reserve on Naval Hill, it offers immersive astronomical shows using state-of-the-art digital projection technology. Hours: Monday – Friday (08:00 – 16:30) and Saturday (06:30 – 20:30). Closed on Sundays. Immersive Experience: Features high-quality full-dome digital presentations on topics ranging from atomic particles to cosmological scales. Historical Site: Housed in the refurbished Lamont-Hussey Observatory, which originally opened in 1928.
