About Morgan Bay Cliffs

The Morgan Bay Cliffs (officially renamed Gxarha in 2022) are a dramatic natural landmark located on the southern tip of the Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. These impressive 50-metre-high dolerite slabs drop vertically into the Indian Ocean, offering some of the most accessible and spectacular sea cliff views in the country. Hiking & Trails: The Morgan Bay Hotel maintains three signposted trails (4km, 6km, and 8km) that start at the hotel and meander along the cliff tops towards Double Mouth. Rock Climbing & Abseiling: As the largest established sea cliff climbing area in South Africa, it features over 630 climbing routes and offers guided abseiling experiences.
