The Cebe Marine Reserve (frequently referred to as the Dwesa-Cwebe Marine Protected Area or MPA) is a significant conservation region located on the Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Established in 1989, it spans 19,293 hectares and protects a 14 km stretch of coastline extending 6 nautical miles out to sea. Access: The reserve is remote; access is primarily via gravel roads from Idutywa (near Mthatha) or East London (approx. 3-hour drive). A 4x4 vehicle is recommended as road conditions can be poor after rain.
