About 32 Battalion Tree of Honour
The 32 Battalion Tree of Honour is a military memorial located at the Voortrekker Monument heritage site in Pretoria. It serves as a tribute to the soldiers of the 32 Battalion—an elite unit known as the "Buffalo Battalion"—who were killed in action during the South African Border War between 1976 and 1991. Physical Features: The memorial is a leadwood stump (Combretum imberbe) that has the names of 136 fallen members recorded on it. History: It was originally located at 2 SAI in Zeerust but was relocated to its current position at the Voortrekker Monument in 2009.
