About Scottish Horse War Memorial
The Scottish Horse War Memorial is a 7.9-metre (26-foot) tall Celtic cross made of red Scottish granite, located on Caledonia Hill (also known as Caledonia Koppie) in Kensington, Johannesburg. It commemorates the 125 men of the Scottish Horse Regiment who died during the Second Boer War (1899–1902). egimental Heritage: The Scottish Horse was a volunteer unit raised in 1900, which later became the antecedent to the famous Transvaal Scottish Regiment.
