About Skulpiesbaai Nature Reserve
The Skulpiesbaai Nature Reserve in Stilbaai features a network of scenic coastal trails that wind through ancient milkwood forests and over dunes. These trails are generally considered easy to moderate, with distances ranging from short 200-metre walks to circular routes up to 6 kilometres long. Milkwood Forest Trails: These neat, well-marked paths take you through "forests" of ancient milkwood trees. Be mindful of low-hanging branches and tree roots along the way. Elephant Bush Trail (Olifantbospad): A specific marked route within the reserve that offers views of the ocean and local fynbos. Coastal Dune Trails: These criss-cross the reserve, following the contours of the dunes. While relatively easy, they can be "reasonably difficult" for some due to the up-and-down nature of the sandy terrain.
