About Oubaai Walking Trail
The Oubaai Walking Trail (often called the Heritage Trail) is a scenic route within the Oubaai Golf Estate near Herolds Bay. It offers a mix of coastal fynbos, indigenous forests, and dramatic cliffside views of the Indian Ocean. Oubaai Heritage Trail (Main Loop): A roughly 12.5 km circular route. It is generally rated as moderate to difficult due to steep inclines and numerous concrete steps. Expect it to take around 4 to 4.5 hours. Oubaai Loop: A shorter 6 km (approx. 3.7 miles) version that takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. It still features the signature forest and cliff sections. Access: Entry is via the Oubaai Golf Estate security kiosk. Visitors must present a driver's license for scanning and sign an indemnity form.
