About Hermanus Biodiversity Walk
The Hermanus Biodiversity Walk is a dedicated section of the world-famous Hermanus Cliff Path, specifically established in 2015 between Hermanuspietersfontein and Gearing's Point. This self-guided trail serves as an outdoor museum, featuring stone-seated "information nodes" and educational signs that explain the unique coastal biodiversity of Walker Bay. Location: Runs along the rugged coastline from the New Harbour in the west to Gearing's Point (and continuing toward Grotto Beach). Distance: While the specific Biodiversity section is roughly 3 km, the entire connected Cliff Path stretches for approximately 12 km. Difficulty: Rated as easy and suitable for all fitness levels, including casual strollers, runners, and families.
