The Olifantsbos Shipwreck Trail, also known as the Thomas T. Tucker Trail, is a scenic and historically rich hiking route located in the Cape Point Nature Reserve. It is highly regarded for its accessibility and the opportunity to see rusted shipwrecks, unique flora, and diverse wildlife right on the shoreline. There are three main route options starting from the Olifantsbos parking area, allowing you to choose based on your energy levels and time. Thomas T. Tucker Trail (Yellow Route): An easy 3 km circular path that leads directly to the remains of the SS Thomas T. Tucker, an American Liberty ship wrecked in 1942. Shipwreck Circuit: A roughly 5–6 km loop that continues past the first wreck to reach the Nolloth, a Dutch coaster wrecked in 1965, before returning via an inland ridge. Sirkelsvlei Circuit: A longer, more moderate route (approximately 10–13 km) that adds a loop inland to the spring-fed Sirkelsvlei wetland.
