About Maclear's Beacon
Maclear's Beacon is the highest point on Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa, standing at 1,088 meters (3,570 ft) above sea level. Located on the eastern edge of the plateau, it was erected in 1847 by Sir Thomas Maclear for surveying purposes. It is a popular hiking destination, located approximately 3 km from the Upper Cableway Station.
