About Klipspringer Trail
The Klipspringer Trail is a spectacular, relatively unknown gem that offers a wonderfully varied 4.2-mile circular loop above Kogel Bay. Beginning directly off the R44 coastal road across from the Kogel Bay Camping Resort, the trail kicks off with a slight incline through single-track paths enveloped in pristine Cape fynbos. As you gain elevation, the route treats you to stunning panoramic views stretching over False Bay, the dramatic Kogel Bay Amphitheater, and all the way across to the Cape Peninsula. After leveling out near the Kogelberg Peak intersection, the trail winds through fields of vibrant Sugarbush Proteas before descending to cross a mountain river and hitting the beach shoreline for a memorable coastal walk back to the start. It is a moderately challenging, highly rewarding trek where hikers can often experience complete solitude among the rocky slopes
