About Dassenberg Koppies
Dassenberg Koppies, located right in the heart of Crofters Valley, Noordhoek, is a lesser-known, scenic trail network offering a short but steep outdoor hiking excursion. This natural open space features an informal, rustic dirt pathway that climbs steadily through beautiful sand dune vegetation, unique rock formations, and native fynbos up to the peak ridge and beacon. The primary nature-focused amenities include dirt footpaths, informal trail markers/cairns, and spectacular, unhindered panoramic views over Noordhoek valley, Chapman's Peak, and the Atlantic coastline from the summit. As an integral part of the protected Southern Peninsula natural landscape and a highly sensitive fynbos ecosystem, visitors must strictly follow a no-smoking policy to prevent wildfire hazards. Furthermore, the area is highly popular with local dog walkers and is completely pet-friendly, allowing dogs to explore the open mountain tracks as long as they are properly controlled and cleaned up after.
