The Chapmans Peak Hiking Trail South refers to the more challenging route that ascends the peak from the Noordhoek side, rather than the standard "Northern" start near the Hout Bay toll plaza. This southern approach is a moderately strenuous 5km to 6km return hike involving a 450m to 580m ascent. Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous. It is more technical than the Hout Bay route, featuring steep, stony ascents and a final scramble to the summit.
