About The Sunset Trail
The Sunset Trail is a popular hiking route in the Cathkin Park (Champagne Valley) region of the Central Drakensberg, South Africa. It is widely regarded for its steep initial climb up the ridge of the Matterhorn and its subsequent panoramic views of the high peaks. Difficulty: Generally rated as Moderate to Difficult. While parts are a "pleasant stroll," the first 2–3 km involve a strenuous, steep ascent that requires a good level of fitness.
