About Sterkhorn
The Sterkhorn Hiking Trail (also known as Mount Memory) is one of the most rewarding and strenuous day hikes in the Cathkin Park region of the Central Drakensberg. The trail peaks at 2,973m, offering 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks, including Cathkin Peak and Monk's Cowl. Difficulty: Hard / Advanced. It involves a significant elevation gain of roughly 1,500m (4,900 ft) and includes steep pitches, narrow ridges, and a final rock scramble.
