About Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve
The Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve, located near Heidelberg in Gauteng, offers a diverse network of hiking trails totaling 66 km. The terrain is characterized by hilly, rocky grasslands with minimal shade, making it a challenging but rewarding destination for viewing wildlife such as zebra, wildebeest, and various antelope. Most day visitors choose between the Cheetah and Bokmakierie trails. All day trails are circular and start from the visitor centre.
