About Madonna and Child Waterfall
The Madonna and Child Waterfall is one of the most famous and beautiful natural gems hidden in the misty Afromontane forests of Hogsback. The name comes from a unique rock formation on the face of the cliff that looks like a mother holding her child. The Direct Shortcut: Park along Wolfridge Road. From there, it is a quick but very steep 150-metre walk straight down to the base of the falls. The Lodge Route: Start at the Away with the Fairies Lodge. This is a beautiful out-and-back trail through a shaded forest with plenty of rock pools. The Big Tree Loop: Start near the famous 800-year-old Big Tree on Main Road. This longer loop hits multiple waterfalls, including Bridal Veil Falls and Swallowtail Falls.
