About The Leopard Trail

The Leopard Trail is a popular 4-day, 3-night circular hike set within the Baviaanskloof World Heritage Site Wilderness Reserve in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. It is a slackpacking trail, meaning your heavy luggage and food are transported between overnight camps, allowing you to hike with only a day pack. Total Distance: Approximately 60–67 km (37–42 miles). Difficulty: Moderately difficult to challenging. It requires a good level of hiking fitness due to steep ascents, rocky terrain, and long daily distances. Location: The trail starts and ends at Cedar Falls Base Camp, located near Willowmore. Bookings typically open one year in advance.
