Aerial Cableway Hartbeespoort
About Aerial Cableway Hartbeespoort
The Aerial Cableway Hartbeespoort is a premier tourist attraction located in the North West Province, approximately 45 minutes from both Johannesburg and Pretoria. Spanning 1.2 kilometres across the ancient Magaliesberg mountain range, it holds the title of the longest mono-cableway in Africa and utilizes Swiss-engineered cabins to transport visitors to a panoramic observation summit overlooking the Hartbeespoort Dam.
The facility operates on a completely cashless basis. At the mountain top, visitors can access the Dassie Loop educational walkway, the Vultures View observation deck, an adventure Skypark obstacle course, and various restaurants and bars. Because operations are highly weather-dependent, high winds or lightning can trigger safety shutdowns, making it recommended to verify daily status via their official digital channels prior to arrival.
