Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve is a 65 000-hectare wildlife sanctuary located in the Lowveld region of the Mpumalanga Province, positioned directly west of the Kruger National Park's Skukuza rest camp. Founded originally as the Sabie Game Reserve in 1898, it shares an unfenced 50-kilometre border with Kruger National Park, which allows free, unobstructed movement of wildlife across the massive shared ecosystem.

The reserve takes its name from the Sabie River on its southern boundary and the Sand River, which flows directly through the terrain from the northwest to the southeast corner. These perennial water sources support a dense population of fauna, including 145 mammal species, the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), and a globally recognized density of habituated leopards.

The property is a formal association of private landowners and contains multiple independent luxury lodges and bush camps. To reach the destination, travelers can utilise road infrastructure from Johannesburg or fly directly via scheduled light aircraft into the modernised Skukuza Airport or various private lodge airstrips located within the reserve.
