Nambiti Private Game Reserve
About Nambiti Private Game Reserve
Nambiti Private Game Reserve is a malaria-free conservation area encompassing 23,000 acres of diverse bushveld terrain in KwaZulu-Natal. Situated near Ladysmith, the reserve features a unique ecosystem composed of sweeping grasslands, riverine bush, acacia savannah, and rugged thornveld, which supports Africa's Big Five - lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino alongside species like cheetahs, hippos, hyenas, giraffes, and nearly 200 bird species.
To protect the wildlife and maintain a controlled environment, private unguided driving is prohibited, meaning visitors explore the reserve via scheduled sunrise and sunset game drives in open 4x4 vehicles led by professional field guides. The reserve hosts 10 distinct lodges, ranging from cliffside properties overlooking the Sunday's River to elevated heavy-canvas tented camps, which are accessed through either the North Gate or the Woodlands Gate depending on the specific accommodation.
