About Babanango Game Reserve
Babanango Game Reserve is a 21,000-hectare, malaria-free wilderness located in the KwaZulu-Natal, approximately a three-hour drive north of Durban. Following a large-scale rewilding initiative that successfully reintroduced the African elephant alongside lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo, the reserve operates as a Big Five conservation area. Geographically, the terrain spans an 800-meter altitude variation into the White Umfolozi River Valley, featuring diverse ecosystems, ancient geological formations, and four distinct lodging options ranging from rustic camps to luxury tented lodges.
