Wits parkrun

About Wits parkrun

The Wits parkrun is a free, weekly community 5km event held every Saturday at 8:00 AM on the West Campus of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. As South Africa's first university-based parkrun, the course starts and finishes near the Wits Club on Alumni Lane, featuring a mixed terrain of tarmac and grass that includes a lap around the Science Stadium and the steep "Hypotenuse Hill" incline. Participants must register online beforehand and present a personal scannable barcode at the finish line to receive an official time, while vehicles require barcode presentation to campus security for gate entry.
