Royal Johannesburg (officially the Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club) is one of South Africa's most prestigious and historic golf clubs, located in Linksfield North, Johannesburg. Established in 1890, it received its "Royal" designation in 1931 from King George V. The club features two legendary 18-hole parkland courses that have hosted numerous major tournaments, including the South African Open and the Joburg Open. East Course: A championship-level layout ranked among the top 10 in South Africa. It is known for its length (7,001 yards) and a challenging start to the back nine with consecutive par-4s over 500 yards. West Course: Slightly shorter and more accessible for casual play, though still highly rated. It recently underwent a major upgrade in 2022, including new greens and bunker complexes.
