About Mount Everest Guest Farm
Mount Everest Guest Farm is a 1,000-hectare working sheep farm and nature reserve situated 21 kilometers from Harrismith along the R722 road in the Eastern Free State Highlands. The property features a terrain marked by dramatic sandstone cliffs, indigenous forests, and a seasonal waterfall, serving as a habitat for free-roaming wildlife such as zebra, blesbok, black wildebeest, and ostriches.
As a prominent destination for outdoor recreation, it offers more than 140 sport and traditional rock climbing routes, over 120 bouldering problems, marked hiking trails, and fresh-water dams for bass fishing. Accommodation on the farm consists of self-catering log cabins, eco-cabins, A-frame duplexes, rondawels, and a designated campsite, all accessible via a five-kilometer gravel road branching off the main route.
